EC Activities
Creative Arts Club
Violin / Cello (HCIS Orchestra)
Students will select one of the two instruments to learn how to play. We will start with a small ensemble for each instrument,
and then grow it into a chamber ensemble that combines these three instruments together. These classes will help students to enhance musical knowledge.
Ukulele
The Ukulele is a 4 string mini-guitar that helps develop emotions through experiencing and understanding the scales.
It also helps them to improve concentration and creativity. Learning the Ukulele can help students learn basic performance, posture, music characteristics, as well as improving social skills. Students will also have the opportunity to sing while playing their ukulele
Broadcasting
Students will work on making scripts, recording, and editing videos. These videos will be shown to our elementary students on a weekly basis. They will be able to improve their teamwork, writing, and public speaking skills in this club.
Photography
Photography will help students curiosity and creativity grow! While learning the rules and how to use the camera is important,
this class will also focus on helping the students grow their creativity.
Drama
Students will tap into their artistic and creative sides in this class.
They will also work on their confidence, develop communication skills, and empathy in a fun way.
Comic Drawing
Drawing comics helps students improve their imagination and reading skills. They will work on not only their drawing skills but also learn to develop stories with plots, characters, and different settings. Wile drawing and having fun, they will also build their story writing skills (vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, etc.).
Guitar
Students will learn chords, rhythms, and techniques through engaging lessons. Students will enhance musical proficiency and confidence, along with fostering creativity and a love of music.
Print & Broadcasting
Our Print and Broadcasting Club offers students the chance to enhance their writing and communication skills while having a voice in the school. Students will contribute to mini newspapers and articles. They will also create scripts, record, and edit videos to be shown at HCIS. This club provides opportunities to improve teamwork, writing, and public speaking skills, making it a comprehensive platform for creative expression and collaboration.
Choir
Our Choir Club introduces students to the art of vocal music through rehearsals and performances. Students will learn harmonizing vocals, teamwork, and confidence in a supportive environment. Joining the choir enhances musical abilities, promotes dedication, and fosters creativity. It's a fantastic opportunity for students to explore their passion for singing and build valuable lifelong skills.
Chess
Our Chess Club offers students the opportunity to master the game of strategy and tactics. Through regular practice and friendly competitions, members develop critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and sportsmanship.
